Gigi Perez brings a personal connection to loss into “Favor,” her new contribution to The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping soundtrack, ahead of the album’s November 13 release.
Gigi Perez has released “Favor,” a new song written for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The October 30 single arrives before the film’s companion album, giving listeners an early introduction to her contribution to the return to Panem.
Perez wrote and produced the song with Aidan Hobbs. In discussing its creation, she connected the project to her experience of grief and a desire to feel close to loved ones who have died. She also traced her relationship with The Hunger Games stories back to the age of 12.
“Favor” appears as track 13 on the album, which MCA will release November 13. Dave Cobb serves as executive producer on the project, bringing together 29 artists across genres. Perez’s track sits among music created specifically for the story’s world rather than a collection drawn entirely from existing releases.
Her official website now places “Favor” alongside the releases that have introduced her music to a wider audience, including “Sailor Song,” “Fable” and “Chemistry.” The official audio below lets listeners hear the complete new soundtrack contribution before the larger collection arrives.
The new single follows At The Beach, In Every Life, released April 25, 2025. That original edition contains 12 songs and runs approximately 46 minutes. An extended edition followed in July with 13 tracks, giving Perez an established album catalog alongside the individual songs highlighted on her website.
The film turns to an earlier chapter of the franchise: the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Set 24 years before the original story, it follows a young Haymitch Abernathy. The expanded number of tributes makes this particular contest a different ordeal from the Games audiences first encountered with Katniss Everdeen.
Suzanne Collins’ novel was originally published March 18, 2025. Scholastic’s movie tie-in edition followed September 1, 2026, ahead of the screen adaptation. Francis Lawrence directs the film, continuing his work on the franchise that began with Catching Fire.
The release schedule leaves a week between the soundtrack’s November 13 arrival and the film’s November 20 theatrical opening. Listeners can hear Perez’s single now, before the complete collection and the screen adaptation arrive later this month.
