Melissa Joan Hart will lead and executive produce a new Lifetime movie scheduled to premiere in January.
Melissa Joan Hart’s next Lifetime role comes with work on both sides of the camera. She will star in and executive produce Black Widow Killer: The Judy Buenoano Story, currently a working title.
The film is scheduled for January 23, 2027, at 8 p.m. It joins the network’s winter Ripped From the Headlines slate, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s casting report.
Chris Bauer is attached as Detective Chamberlain, with Matthew Settle playing John Gentry. Cronin Cullen will appear as Detective Steele, rounding out the announced principal cast.
Agam Darshi directs from a screenplay by Taylor Martin. The story’s setting spans Florida in the 1970s and 1980s, placing the production in a period backdrop.
Hartbreak Films, Tiny Riot and Fox Entertainment Studios are producing. Paula Hart also serves as executive producer, alongside Melissa Joan Hart.
Fox Entertainment Global is handling international distribution. For now, the announcement establishes the cast, creative team and Lifetime premiere rather than a wider international release schedule.
