SZA’s first full Vans collection arrives with reworked sneakers and relaxed clothing that draw on her own wardrobe and love of the outdoors.
SZA’s VANSZA Drop 1 launches October 22, moving the singer’s creative partnership with Vans into a full footwear and apparel release. Available through Vans stores and online, the collection is her debut since becoming the brand’s first artistic director in 2025.
The Knu Skool Mule and Authentic Kickdown approach familiar shoes from a practical starting point: SZA likes to slip her footwear on. One removes the heel from the chunky Knu Skool, while the other uses a collapsible back, distressed canvas and artwork by Sage Adams to accommodate that habit.
The clothes carry the same personal approach beyond footwear. A trompe-l’oeil fleece set reproduces the appearance of a worn workwear jacket from SZA’s own collection, while a denim hunting jacket and multi-pocket trousers bring oversized proportions, corduroy accents and utility detailing into the range.
The accompanying campaign places those pieces in California’s natural landscape rather than on a conventional studio backdrop. India Sleem photographed the campaign, with Yudo Kurita supplying product and landscape imagery; the featured cast includes Vans skateboarder Zion Wright alongside Caylee Blosenski, Isabella Carr and musician Vans.
The launch follows September’s New York Fashion Week preview, where the collection was presented through a nature-inspired experience on the Bowery. With footwear, denim, fleece and accessories arriving together, this first drop presents a wider wardrobe rather than limiting the collaboration to a single sneaker.
There is also a clear distinction between today’s release and the next installment. Vans confirms that Drop 2 is scheduled for April 8, 2027, with the split-toe LX Tabi Hiker and a camouflage Knu Skool among the designs reserved for that later chapter.
