Some artists grow into music slowly, and others know the second they pick up a mic that it’s the only thing that makes sense. For CTM Larry, it was a little bit of both. Born and raised in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, he spent years making music for himself before finally deciding in 2024 that it was time to take it seriously.

That year became a turning point. Instead of just making songs whenever he felt like it, he started shaping a real sound that felt honest, intentional, and true to who he is. “2024 was when I stopped making music just to make it,” he says. “That’s when I actually figured out where I fit as an artist.”

Music as a Release

For Larry, music isn’t just a hobby or a career goal. It’s the one place where he can slow everything down and get his emotions under control. He uses music to turn chaos into something clear. It became his outlet and the safest way for him to say things he doesn’t always express out loud. In doing that, he realized he could connect with people who feel the same but don’t always know how to explain it.

Blending Rap and R&B

His sound lives somewhere between rap and R&B. He’s drawn to songs that carry real emotion but still hit with confidence. Whether he’s being vulnerable or standing firm on who he is, the goal is always the same: make people feel something.

Even though he doesn’t play instruments, he studies artists who know how to balance storytelling, emotion, and vibe. Artists who speak from real experiences and make honesty a part of their signature sound. That mix of influence helps shape the lane he’s building for himself.

The Journey So Far

Like most new artists, Larry’s journey hasn’t been instant success. It’s been slow, steady, and full of lessons. But he’s learned not to rush the process or compare himself to others. Instead, he focuses on being present and letting each step build naturally. “Everything is piece by piece,” he says. “I’m learning to appreciate where I’m at.”

He hasn’t dropped an album or EP yet, but he’s been building momentum through singles. His first official release, Feeling, marked the moment he fully put himself out there. Since then, he’s been refining his craft, trying new styles, and getting ready for the next chapter.

A Standout Moment

One of the biggest moments in his career so far was realizing that people were actually listening. Not just clicking, but really connecting with what he was saying. Seeing hundreds of listeners made everything feel real and showed him that his music carries weight.

What’s Next

Right now, Larry is working on his upcoming EP titled Gen 3. It’s shaping up to be a personal project that reflects where he’s been, who he is, and where he’s heading. He calls it the project where he steps into himself as an artist.

He also has a new single called Pop a Pill dropping on December 15 and a performance lined up on February 7.

Piece by piece, the world of CTM Larry is coming together, and if his growth so far is any hint of what’s next, he’s just getting started.
