Vision13 (Nikolay Gorashchenko) first entered the world of music at the age of 17, having experimented with other forms of art in his earlier years, such as cinematography, photography and design. Throughout his music career Vision13 has always recorded and mixed his music from his home studio, having started from ground zero while learning in the process. During his first few years as an artist, he was known for his ability to transparently express emotions with his vocal delivery and engage the listener with the ideology behind his songs, while also having a distinct “muddy” sound to his music, which the artist considers a part of the listening experience that tells a story how his music was made. Vision13 stands for cherishing and valuing individual perception, respecting individual outlook on the world and art in particular, from where his artist name derives, as “Vision” stands for what each individual sees, rather than how one looks at what is around them.
Vision13’s debut project “PURITY” is an attempt to experiment as much within each individual track on the album as with the dynamic of the project track-list altogether. With the foundation of the album being hip-hop, it merges with many alternative elements, creating an intense, cinematic and rebellious sound and atmosphere.
The project “PURITY” dives deep into the constant fight for one to maintain the purity of soul, with life and the world around us tempting us to put our values and honesty with ourselves to the side in order to survive. Just as the journey to find purity can be a rocky road, the dynamic of the album also includes sudden and unpredictable changes of mood, delving into the idea of the journey at times leading to insanity of the protagonist.
The main focus track, titled “GOD SHOW ME THE LIGHT”, might be the most intense composition of all in the project, acting like a cannon moment in the story the artist tells throughout the album. A shout for help, a prayer and, simultaneously, a battle cry, that paints the picture of the protagonist’s purpose and the difficulties of reaching his final destination – purity.
