Olivia Rodrigo’s first holiday single will arrive with a music video featuring Cynthia Nixon and Ben Marshall.
Olivia Rodrigo has announced “take me home (4 christmas),” due November 5 at 5 p.m. Pacific and 8 p.m. Eastern. The original song and its video are scheduled to arrive together through Interscope Records.
Rodrigo wrote the track with Dan Nigro and Amy Allen, and Nigro produced it. The collaboration continues her work with Nigro, who has been closely associated with her music since her breakthrough.
The video will feature Sex and the City actor Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live comedian Ben Marshall alongside Rodrigo, according to Universal Music Canada’s announcement. Their roles in the clip have not yet been detailed.
Rodrigo shared the news on Instagram with the single artwork and the release time. The announcement gives listeners a first look at the holiday project before the song and video arrive.
Seven-inch vinyl and cassette editions are also planned. The label says the vinyl will reach stores November 6, following the digital release the previous evening in the United States.
The holiday single follows Rodrigo’s October “expectations” remix with Chappell Roan. That collaboration helped return her third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, to the top of the Billboard 200.
