The anniversary edition pairs the original album with vault recordings, remixes and a restored Loverboy video.

Mariah Carey’s Glitter has returned in an expanded 25th-anniversary edition. Released October 30 through Def Jam and UMe, the new package looks beyond the original soundtrack to material from its recording history.

The digital edition contains 27 tracks, including 15 additions. Carey’s official store also lists a digital booklet, giving the release an archival component beyond its longer running order.

Among the extras are an early ‘Lead the Way’ recording, an alternate ‘Out Here on My Own’ and an a cappella ‘All My Life.’ Those versions offer different perspectives on songs already associated with the project.

There are newer reinterpretations, too: Channel Tres remixes ‘All My Life’, while Rochelle Jordan takes on ‘Didn’t Mean to Turn You On.’ The anniversary therefore connects previously unreleased recordings with fresh collaborations.

The visual side includes a 4K restoration of David LaChapelle’s ‘Loverboy’ video, reconstructed from original 35mm footage. It accompanies the album’s return to vinyl.

The vinyl editions include Midnight Purple and Glittering Pink variants. The latter adds three bonus recordings, including ‘Never Too Far/Hero Medley’ and the ‘Firecracker’ version of ‘Loverboy.’
