Following the release of their debut album last year, Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet show no signs of slowing down as they gear up for new music in 2025. Sending colourful waves crashing with melody and rhythm, they unleash their cover of Blondie’s seminal hit ‘Dreaming.’
Giving the Blondie hit a new lease of life; the Dream Ballet come crashing through the airwaves with its vibrant interpretation of the 70s band’s legacy. Coupling together crunching guitars, effortless vocal delivery, and an unforgiving rhythm section, the cover is a euphoric insight into the endless creativity of Brea Fournier – and it even comes with Debbie Harry’s seal of approval.
Speaking about the release, the band commented, “As a theatrical pop-rock band with an eclectic sound, Blondie has long been a tremendous inspiration of ours. “Dreaming” in particular is an electric song and we are so proud that it will be our third release with producer Barb Morrison, a frequent collaborator of Debbie Harry and Blondie. In these current times, oppressive circumstances demand revolutionary thought. Daring to dream is a rebellious act in itself that speaks to Blondie’s punk roots in a way that is now more relevant and necessary than ever. ‘Dreaming is free’ is our mantra for creating a better world and celebrating each moment of joy and community as we do so”.
Hailing from New York City, Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet is an exciting pop-rock/punk collective. Spearheaded by Brea Fournier, an exciting new voice in the feminist rock scene, the band comprises guitarist Ben Shanblatt, drummer Sophia Bondi, and bassist Noah Rosner. Making waves with their defiant mix of pop, rock, and eighties influences, the group has turned heads with their dynamic live shows, gracing stages across the US from Seattle to Salt Lake City and sharing bills with fellow contemporaries Dog Party. Making their debut release in 2023 with ‘Petty Stuff’, the group released their debut album, ‘Manic Pixie Dream Girl!’ the following year. Looking further to cement their reputation as fast-rising, underground rock talents, they look forward to 2025 with new music on the horizon.
