Cody Johnson and Stephen Wilson Jr. join Brothers Osborne on an album that returns to the Maryland town behind the duo’s beginnings.
Brothers Osborne have released Watertown, their fifth studio album, through MCA on October 23. Produced by longtime collaborator Jay Joyce, the 11-song main program takes its title in tribute to the brothers’ coastal hometown of Deale, Maryland.
Guest appearances are a first for one of their full-length projects. Cody Johnson joins the opening song, “Born and Raised Hell,” while Stephen Wilson Jr. appears later on “Tough Kid.” The collaborations sit near opposite ends of the running order.
The digital release also makes room for shorter versions without replacing the main album. Apple Music lists a second disc containing edits of “R.I.P.,” “Bottle It Up,” “Doors” and “Born and Raised Hell,” alongside the complete 11-track sequence.
That distinction follows a deliberate choice in the rollout. In July, the duo explained that the “R.I.P.” Sellout Edit was designed for streaming discovery, while the full recording would initially be available to their Family Fan Club.
The lengths show how differently those versions are packaged. “R.I.P.” runs 3:41 on the album and 1:50 in its edit; “Born and Raised Hell” runs 4:47 in full and 3:18 in its shorter version. The main sequence closes with the title track.
The album launch also brings a new video for “Born and Raised Hell.” Directed by Nick Swift and filmed in Nashville, the clip pairs a garage performance by the three musicians with scenes recalling youthful mischief. The song is scheduled to reach country radio November 2.
