Tribal Young Brown, also known as Tribal Brown or Brown, is an American hip hop artist and record producer. He is the founder and owner of Roovet Records, an independent label based in Jacksonville, Florida.[1].[2] He is best known for his single “Consider This”, which was released in April 2022 and became a viral hit on social media platforms. Tribal Young Brown was born Tony James Nelson II on April 13, 1987, in East Meadow, New York.[3] He started rapping at the age of 35, influenced by artists such as Big L, Biggie Smalls, and Tupac Shakur. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida, in 2013.In 2022, he founded Roovet Records, a label that aims to promote independent and underground artists from Florida and beyond. He also began buying his own beats and recording his own songs in his home studio.
In 2022, he released his debut single “Consider This”, a diss track that addressed issues of trust and betrayal in his personal life. The song gained popularity on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Spotify, where it amassed millions of views and streams. The song also attracted controversy for its explicit lyrics and personal attacks on both non-rappers and rappers. Tribal Young Brown worked on his first studio album, which was expected to be released in late 2023. He has also collaborated with other artists such as Dopeboy Cot, DJ J.O, and Melz Cali. He describes his music style as “raw, real, and rebellious”, and says that he wants to inspire people to be themselves and follow their dreams.
