John Legend has released “Daylight,” a new single produced by Pharrell Williams and taken from his upcoming album Muse.
“Daylight” serves as the lead single from Muse, a 16-track project produced in full and co-written by Pharrell Williams. The album is scheduled for release on October 23 through Republic Records.
The track pairs Legend’s soulful vocal style with polished percussion, orchestral touches and Pharrell’s signature rhythmic production. Songwriting credits also include Samm Henshaw and Wayne Hector.
With Muse, Legend is exploring a broader sound that blends elements of gospel, soul, doo-wop, Afrobeat and hip-hop. The project marks a full-album collaboration between Legend and Pharrell after years of crossing paths creatively.
Legend has described the album as a chance to move beyond his familiar piano-led approach and experiment with a different musical palette. The project also includes additional contributions from Pharrell and a guest appearance from Clipse.
“Daylight” is available now, while Muse is set to arrive October 23 via Republic Records.
