MAMAMOO star Solar says a frightening encounter in Los Angeles left her stunned after a stranger threw a wooden chair in her direction and she was struck.
MAMAMOO’s Solar has opened up about being hit by a wooden chair during a recent encounter with a stranger in Los Angeles. According to Complex, the singer described the incident during an Instagram Live while discussing her time in the city during MAMAMOO’s 2026 World Tour.
Solar said she was walking with bandmate MoonByul, a hairstylist and two male managers when a man who had been across the street suddenly approached their group. She recalled that he was carrying a chair over his shoulder before he began swearing in English and threw the chair toward her.
“He started swearing at us in English, saying all sorts of things. And then, all of a sudden, he threw the chair at me,” Solar said. She explained that the chair was thrown toward the ground near her, but she was still struck by pieces of it as it broke.
The sudden confrontation left Solar shaken. She said she was so flustered that she did not scream and initially struggled to process what had happened, adding that she had never experienced anything like it before.
Solar said the two managers who were walking with the group stepped in after she was hit, stopping the man before he left. She also revealed that the wooden chair broke during the incident and that she was left with a bruise on her leg, which has since disappeared.

The incident came while MAMAMOO was traveling through the United States for the group’s 2026 World Tour “4WARD”. The group performed at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Aug. 25 before continuing its U.S. run, which included stops in cities such as New York, Chicago, Fort Worth, San Jose and Kent, Washington.
