King Kami (born Ryan Williams) is an artist whose story reflects real evolution. He began writing poetry in elementary school, using it as therapy, but spent most of his early life focused on athletics. Music wasn’t always the plan—until around 2009-2010, when his love for writing began to turn into a serious pursuit.
In 2011, he dropped his first mixtape, “Real Recognize Reez,” which helped introduce his name to the independent rap scene and set the tone for his work ethic.
By 2017, Kami began building his presence with consistent releases and visuals. He dropped three standout videos—“In My Bag,” “Feel Good,” and the “Don’t Run” Remix—and appeared in other projects, including the “Show Love Cypher” hosted by Blackman103. He also stayed active on SoundCloud, keeping his supporters fed with new music.
In 2018, he released “Real Recognize Reez V2” on MyMixtapez and SoundCloud, while also taking his business seriously through ASCAP affiliation. He expanded his brand beyond music with his first clothing line release—hoodies, t-shirts, and dad hats—which sold out completely, proving his supporters weren’t just fans, they were invested.
Kami continued leveling up musically in 2020 with “Company” featuring Gimmie2Loud, and in 2021 teamed up with his brother Blackman103 for “Lord Knows.” Their chemistry led to the collaborative album “COLDEST HEART,” released on Thanksgiving 2021 and available on streaming platforms.
He also made a statement with “RIOT,” a powerful record tied to the Black Lives Matter movement featuring Zenire, produced by PearlyDonDada, and engineered at HIFY Studio in West Haven, CT.
In 2022, Kami hit a career milestone by opening up for Jack Harlow, Tory Lanez, and The Migos at Rhino Arena in Tampa, FL during Super Bowl Weekend. He followed that run with records like “Petty,” “Blaow,” and later “Raig” featuring Squeeze Banzz, which became part of his 2024 project “PROJECT 24.” His visual for “Naw Fr” further cemented his consistency on YouTube (King Kami Official).
But his biggest transformation came in 2025. After being saved on April 27th, Kami shifted from secular rap into Christian hip hop, fully stepping into his calling. He released his 5-track project “I Understand It Now” on May 12, 2025, and followed up with his 2026 single “Tweakin.”
With sharp writing, a natural flow, and a message rooted in truth, King Kami is now moving with more than talent—he’s moving with assignment.
