Boston’s EXITFAME Prepares to Drop Debut Album Permanent Stains, a Raw Testament to Recovery, Faith, and Hip-Hop Rising rapper from Roxbury and Dorchester channels nearly seven years of sobriety into his most defining project yet

BOSTON, Mass. — From the neighborhoods of Roxbury and Dorchester, Boston-bred hip-hop artist EXITFAME is emerging as one of the region’s most compelling voices — not only in music, but in purpose. With his upcoming album Permanent Stains, scheduled for release June 26, 2026, EXITFAME is set to deliver his most personal and impactful project to date.

The album arrives at a pivotal point in his journey. A man of faith and a father of three, EXITFAME has spent nearly seven years in recovery, turning some of his most difficult and vulnerable life experiences into music that connects with listeners facing poverty, addiction and adversity.

“I paint pictures of the harsh realities we come from while providing hope,” EXITFAME said. “I’ve been honest about my lowest moments and used them to inspire people who are in similar situations I once faced.”

That level of honesty has already helped him build a loyal following and earn notable recognition. His career highlights include a Boston Music Award win, a sold-out headlining performance, and an appearance at London’s O2 Arena, where he opened for hip-hop group The Lox. His collaborative track Too Many Times (Remix) featuring Boston rapper Millyz remains one of his most recognized releases.

Permanent Stains reflects a clear evolution in both sound and perspective — shaped by sobriety, spirituality and the realities of being an independent artist balancing multiple responsibilities. EXITFAME has been open about the financial pressures that come with sustaining a music career independently.

“Making music is the easy part,” he said. “It’s the promotion, marketing and constant growth that becomes expensive. Those financial barriers make it easy for people to give up.”

Even so, he has continued to gain traction, generating income through performances and collaborations while building a tight-knit group of supporters and investors he credits as key to his progress.

His connection to hip-hop began early. EXITFAME recorded his first studio session as a child alongside his father and later performed as part of the rap group Triple Threat. Today, he views music as both a purpose and a platform for impact.

“I see myself performing internationally and combining music with motivational speaking,” he said. “I also want to be in a position to guide and support younger artists coming up.”

With Permanent Stains approaching its release, EXITFAME is inviting listeners, media and supporters to follow the next phase of his journey — one rooted in truth, growth and resilience.

Permanent Stains will be available June 26, 2026.
