His early years were grounded in education and exploration, attending Austin High School while also spending time studying at Bowie High School. Like many creatives searching for their path, his academic journey took several turns. He studied at Texas State University, later pursued music studies at Austin Community College (ACC), and also attended Texas Tech University before ultimately finding the right opportunity through the NYU Yellow Brick Road Program, where he earned his graduation and further expanded his knowledge of the music industry.
Those experiences helped shape an artist who understands both the artistic and business sides of music.
For years, ZKosta became a familiar and respected presence in the Austin nightlife scene, building his reputation as a skilled club DJ capable of commanding a dance floor. His sets quickly became known for their energy, creativity, and technical control behind the decks. Beyond the performance itself, he also emerged as a community-minded figure who helped strengthen the local music ecosystem, offering support and opportunities to fellow artists.
Expanding on his vision for electronic music, ZKosta founded the international record label Soniquarium, a platform dedicated primarily to EDM and House music.
