“This song was inspired by all the drama in the Big Brother House…” – Sam Ashby
Fresh out of the Big Brother House, Smashby – better known as Sam Ashby – is back with the release of his latest single ‘CODE’. Inspired by his time on the televised social experiment, the track pulls no punches whilst leaning into his unique blend of contemporary pop backbeats and cutting emotional refrains.
Ringing out of the speakers with a glistening backbeat, ‘CODE’ unfolds as a sticky slice on contemporary pop, brimming with drama and emotion. Packing a punch, the single comes primed and ready for the dancefloor, sporting fizzling basslines and glistening toplines to give it an unmissable melodic edge. ‘CODE’ stands its ground as a defiant anthem, a true dance belter that doesn’t stop pumping.
Diving into the release, Sam explains, “This feels like my JoJo Siwa ‘Karma’ moment. This song was inspired by all the drama in the Big Brother House. The code names, the mean girl allegations, the stuff with Zelah, it felt good to write about it all and have some fun with it.”
