Some people create because they can. Balm Angel creates because he must.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Balm Angel’s story is stitched together with the threads of creativity, resilience, and music that runs deep in the family DNA. “I was born lonely—divorced family, pretty much on my own. Music became a spiritual part of me,” he says. “By age eleven, I was already skipping school for clubs. They tried to keep me out because I was underage, but that couldn’t stop me.”
It wasn’t just about listening. Before long, Balm Angel was writing his own songs, often with a friend on the back seats of class. That’s where the journey began—a kid with a head full of sound, scribbling lyrics during math, dreaming of stages instead of tests.
What sets Balm Angel apart isn’t just his work ethic or his hustle, but his unmistakable creativity and sound. “My creativity and sound make me different,” he says simply. For him, music and design go hand in hand—two sides of the same restless imagination. “I’ve always wanted the best creation, whether it’s a track or a visual. That’s what keeps me pushing.”
So what’s next? “I want to be known as the greatest artist. I want my music out there.” And he’s not slowing down. His new single, an trendsetting track called “LOOKING BY,” drops October 10th. If you’re into fresh sounds and inventive style, you’ll want to have this one on your playlist.
From skipping class to skipping genres, Balm Angel is proof that sometimes, music isn’t just something you do—it’s who you are.
