Having amassed over fifty million streams to date, Re:um is back with his latest single ‘Burn (Me Down)’, as he looks to continue his emphatic creative output. Having received backing from the likes of John Mayer, Ambient, and Stereofox, the new single marks Re:um’s thirteenth of the year.
Coupling smooth, guitar licks with an effortless finesse, ‘Burn (Me Down)’ highlights Re:um as an established artist, a master of his craft. The single sports a laid-back, expansive soundscape, bringing style and sophistication to the limelight. One of his most expressive releases to date, ‘Burn (Me Down)’ brings luscious melodies, encased with Re:um’s signature flair.
Diving into the release, he explores, “This track centers around burnout, caused by one’s own unrelenting drive to evolve and improve at the expense of enjoying the journey and being present. Ironically, making this song was contributing to said burnout, but felt worthwhile. Although it feels this way almost every time I toil over every last detail of a track late into many consecutive nights.”
Masterminded by Elliott Eriksen, a London-based producer and multi-instrumentalist, Re:um is a project that looks to break down genre barriers. Creating everything from soulful, downtempo beats to disco house, Elliott began his time as a musician by experimenting with piano, bass, and guitar, which led him to incorporate his instrumental expertise with electronic flavours to create something that feels truly boundary pushing.
