“Everything to Me”: Gino McKoy Breaks Barriers with a Billboard Hit and a Sci-Fi Epic

Indie visionary Gino McKoy is redefining what it means to be a multi-hyphenate artist in 2025. With the soaring success of his heartfelt ballad “Everything to Me” debuting at #30 on the Billboard charts, and his sci-fi thriller LUMINA streaming globally, the Trinidadian-Canadian creative is blurring the lines between music and film, and doing it on his own terms.

Lifted from the LUMINA original soundtrack, “Everything to Me” is a cinematic pop ballad that radiates deep emotional resonance. The track opens with dreamy textures and an alluring vocal that immediately draws you into McKoy’s world, one of longing, love, and sonic beauty. Critics have praised the song’s blend of pop, pop-rock, and soul, calling it “heartfelt and drenched in warm, affectionate tones,” and “a soaring expression of the wonder of love.”

The track, produced by music legends David Kershenbaum and Greg Phillinganes, mixed by 15-time Grammy-winning engineer Mick Guzauski, and co-composed by Gino and Hudson McKoy, is more than just a single, it’s a storytelling device. As the official title theme for LUMINA, it amplifies the emotional weight of the film while standing tall as a charting hit on its own.

LUMINA, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube TV, Google TV, and Tubi, is a genre-bending sci-fi feature that follows a group of friends searching for a young woman named Tatiana, who mysteriously disappears in a blinding flash of light. Filmed in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains with the largest interior sci-fi sets ever built there, the movie blends spectacle with emotion, a hallmark of McKoy’s creative voice.

“I wanted to perform and produce the type of music I could include in my movies,” McKoy shared. “Everything to Me” is exactly that, a deeply personal track that enhances the cinematic experience while also living independently as a love letter in sound.

McKoy, a classically trained vocalist, grew up surrounded by music in Trinidad before moving to Canada and studying finance. But his heart pulled him toward the arts, and today, he’s a writer, director, producer, and performer whose projects are gaining international attention. His next works include Spidersweb (co-written with The Equalizer’s Michael Sloan), another sci-fi film, and a sports documentary tied to Howard University’s historic NCAA soccer victory.

With glowing praise from Forbes, appearances at Comic Con New York and Los Angeles, and a steadily growing global fanbase, Gino McKoy is doing what few indie artists have done: charting a creative path that’s uniquely his — and impossible to ignore.
