Hot off the heels of their self-titled EP, released earlier this year, Good Time Locomotive show no signs of slowing down with their scorching new single, ‘Star’. Making waves for 2025, the band re-enter the limelight with new music on the horizon, working with Grammy-award winning mix engineer/producer Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters, U2).
Blending full-on rock funk and self-searching emotive lyricisms with their signature feel-good grooves, ‘Star’ unfolds as a riotous, floor-filling stompathon. Bringing nostalgic synthesis with pummeling rhythms, the single couples together alt-rock and atmospheric soundscapes to forge something that feels irresistibly emphatic.
Speaking about the new single, the band dives in, “This is a song definitely born out of the frustration of being an up-and-coming musician. All you really want is enough of a platform to be able to do music every day, but you have to sell yourself as a product for anyone to take notice of the thing that matters the most, the music! This song is a sarcastic take on that premadona rock star dream that, ironically, is what we all want.”
Good Time Locomotive are an alternative pop-rock band hailing from London, UK. Since officially forming in 2020, they have enthused their funky pop songwriting style with a feel-good flourish and positive messaging to build an exciting sound. Writing their earliest material via Zoom in the days of the first COVID lockdown, the group quickly came out of quarantine and into the studio before releasing debut single ‘Lines of Symmetry’ in Spring 2023. Since then, the band has grown a healthy following on streaming services and continue to turn heads with their dynamic, feel-good live shows.
