Alternative pop artist Thehiz, is returning with a brand new single entitled ‘Payday’. The standout signature vocal style of TheHiz is showcased from the get go, with his optimistic energy being paired with gritty production, allowing the fierce vocal performance to pierce through. This is supported with lively electric guitar riffs and dynamic drums, as well as a cheeky and fiery horn section that really blows the roof off.
The single is released alongside an accompanying music video directed by Lexiy Ally. It showcases both the style and musical talent from the artist, with fun and visually interesting cuts.
On the new release, he says, “I started recording this song in 2021. I co-produced it with Steve Wilmot [OneRepublic, U2, Switchfoot] and Taylor Frankyn. It was mixed by Dusty Moon. Going through the motions of life and feeling like my dreams were so far away. I wrote it to motivate myself through the journey. I wrote this song almost 9 years ago. I’ve accomplished so much since in everything I’ve pursued and it still feels like I’m just getting started.”
Hailing from Washington DC, independent songwriter and producer Thehiz burst onto the scene with his debut single ‘SUBMARINE’ in early 2022. After moving to the US at 11 years old from Ethiopia, he discovered a love for rock music that inspired him to write. Since then, he has continued to release singles, even gaining chart success in Europe.
With ‘Payday’ set to be Thehiz’s most exciting offering to date, the future looks bright, with 2024 gearing up to be a blowout year with a European tour to boot.
