David Archuleta is returning to Christmas music with an album built around movement, familiar melodies and a reunion with Jordin Sparks.
David Archuleta released Warm Me Up on October 30, introducing a 12-track holiday collection that places new material beside seasonal standards. It is his first holiday release in eight years, arriving with a brighter rhythmic emphasis than listeners might expect from a traditional Christmas set.
In an interview with WROC’s Gio Battaglia, Archuleta described influences including New Edition, Bobby Brown and the Gap Band. His aim was to create music that feels festive and lighthearted while encouraging people to move, an approach that makes the album’s title an invitation as much as a seasonal reference.
Jordin Sparks appears on “Wish at the Top of My List,” bringing another American Idol alumnus into the project. Archuleta spoke about the connection formed by their experiences of becoming widely known as teenagers, giving the collaboration a personal history beyond the shared television franchise.
The official track listing includes “Let It Snow,” “Merry Christmas Baby,” “Sleigh Ride” and “Grownup Christmas List.” Those recognizable titles sit with songs such as “Santa on His Way Tonight,” “Nochebuena” and “Christmas California,” balancing familiar holiday touchstones with the album’s own repertoire.
“Winter in the Air” and “Christmas Every Day” return in remixed and remastered form. Their inclusion links the new collection to Archuleta’s earlier seasonal work rather than presenting this release as a complete break from it. The vinyl edition is packaged as an opaque-white record in a gatefold sleeve.
Archuleta has also connected his enthusiasm for the season to family caroling and visits to hospitals and nursing homes, discussing those memories in an ABC7 interview. His holiday schedule includes a December 16 performance at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre, taking the new collection from the studio into a live setting.
