Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially delivered the largest domestic opening weekend in box office history, earning $360 million across the United States and Canada. Final Monday figures pushed the superhero blockbuster beyond its earlier $355 million estimate and above the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame, which opened with $357 million in 2019, according to People.

The achievement represents another major milestone for Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man. The actor’s fourth solo outing as Peter Parker arrived five years after Spider-Man: No Way Home, which opened with $260 million domestically before finishing its theatrical run with approximately $1.9 billion worldwide.

The film also generated an extraordinary $932 million globally during its first three days, immediately establishing it as one of 2026’s biggest releases. Its performance shows that Spider-Man remains one of cinema’s strongest attractions, even as other comic-book properties have struggled to maintain the same level of audience excitement.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Peter as he continues protecting New York while largely operating alone. His life changes again when Ned and MJ return after completing college, pulling Peter back toward the friendships and personal connections he previously sacrificed.

The cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal and Florence Pugh, with Spider-Man joining forces with characters including the Punisher and Yelena Belova. Together, they face a mysterious threat that appears nearly invisible and may be detectable only through Peter’s heightened abilities.

With its record-breaking domestic launch and near-billion-dollar global start, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has positioned itself as a potential contender for the highest-grossing movie of 2026. The result also gives Marvel renewed momentum as the studio prepares for its next major theatrical event, Avengers: Doomsday, arriving December 18, 2026.
