For more than two decades, Kat the Modern Day Psalmist built a career leading a cybersecurity company. But beneath the structure of business life, another voice had always been waiting. Songwriting had been part of her since grade school, a private language of reflection, healing, and faith. In the last three years, she stepped away from the corporate world and returned to music with renewed purpose.
That return was not driven by nostalgia. It was driven by calling. Kat wanted to create songs that spoke honestly to real life while keeping faith at the center. She had long loved genres like reggae, jazz, hip hop, EDM, folk, and country, yet often felt that much of Christian music did not reflect the rhythmic energy or lyrical depth she was searching for. Rather than wait for someone else to make it, she decided to build it herself.
Using modern tools like the Suno app, Kat has been able to transform years of lyrics and ideas into fully realized songs. Technology became a bridge between imagination and expression, allowing sounds she had carried internally for years to finally become audible. For her, innovation is not replacing faith or creativity. It is helping both reach people faster and farther.

Her music blends worship, testimony, and movement. These are songs rooted in prayer, spiritual struggle, healing, and hope, but delivered with rhythm and momentum. She wants listeners to feel just as comfortable lifting their hands in worship as they are moving with the beat. It is music designed for both the dance floor and the prayer room.
One of her biggest challenges has been resisting pressure to follow old models of success or fit into rigid expectations. Instead, Kat has chosen authenticity over approval. Some of her proudest moments have come from hearing ideas once hidden in notebooks and prayers come alive through sound, proving that purpose can bloom in any season of life.
Now she is focused on creating a morning worship album built to inspire the start of each day. She also hopes to bring worship and healing events together, while collaborating with other Christian artists who share a passion for honesty, hope, and connection.
Kat the Modern Day Psalmist spent years protecting digital systems. Now she is using music to help restore something even more valuable: the human spirit.
