Lee Chang-dong’s relationship drama offers a closer look at its central four characters before its theatrical and Netflix releases.
The Possible Love final trailer brings the strained relationships at the center of Lee Chang-dong’s new film into closer view. Released by Netflix on October 20, the preview arrives ahead of the drama’s select-theater opening on October 23 and global streaming debut on November 6.
The story follows two married couples brought together through a documentary project. Mi-ok, played by Jeon Do-yeon, lives with her laid-off husband Ho-seok, played by Sul Kyung-gu, while filmmaker Ye-ji and her husband Sang-woo occupy a more affluent world.
Cho Yeo-jeong plays Ye-ji, whose work documenting laid-off workers brings her into contact with Mi-ok. Zo In-sung plays Sang-woo, completing a central quartet whose growing familiarity exposes both hidden desires and the distance between their lives.
In the new trailer, Mi-ok’s emotional appearance before the camera gives way to moments of warmth with Ye-ji. A proposed vacation for both couples then shifts the encounter beyond the documentary itself, suggesting how difficult it may become to separate observation from involvement.
The film is Lee’s first feature since Burning in 2018 and made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Its cast and premise continue his interest in characters whose private feelings sit alongside larger social pressures.
For viewers following the rollout, this is the final trailer rather than a new announcement of the release schedule. Possible Love reaches cinemas first this week, then arrives on Netflix two weeks later.
