Otuyyuto is continuing to flood the streets with music; case in point is his latest 4-pack “B4DASWAG,” a bite-sized look into the current mindstate of an eclectic creator.
Wasting no time in getting his point across, Otuyyuto hops right in his bag on the intro “BROKEN,” effortlessly spitting over an ethereal self-produced instrumental. Almost immediately after the dreamy opener ends, the booming 808s of “JAPAN” come in along with an auto-tuned, slurred Otuyyuto takes you back to his roots.
The project is not without bombastic bars, contemporary punchlines and timely name checks; all can be found on “TYLER HERRO 2,” the project’s third track, continuing the theme of potent bars over otherworldly beats from the man himself.
Of course, one would be remiss without mentioning the outro to the EP, the haunting “KAGAMI,” where Otuyyuto realizes that he’s “lived long enough to see himself become the villain.”
Although short, “B4DASWAG” provides incredible insight into who Otuyyuto is as a creator and as a person. If a project like this is the foundation which he is laying down for himself, then it’s safe to say Otuyyuto is going to be buzzing for a while.
