Sam Smith’s “My Guy” has found a second voice in a new release with Jacob Lusk.
Sam Smith and Jacob Lusk released their duet version of “My Guy” on October 30 via Capitol Records. An official live video captures the pair performing the song at London Coliseum during Smith’s To Be Free residency.
The new version revisits a song from Smith’s fifth studio album, Hazel Eyes, which arrived in August. “My Guy” first came out in June, before the album’s release.
Lusk takes the second verse and joins Smith in the bridge and harmonies. The Compton-born singer’s appearance at the London show had been a surprise, according to BroadwayWorld.
The performance took place as part of Smith’s intimate global residency, which began in 2025. Live Nation’s setlist for the September 16 London date lists “My Guy” with Lusk among the songs performed that evening.
Smith co-wrote “My Guy” with Feist, Simon Aldred and Shahzad Ismaily. The original recording’s harmonies also feature contributions from Smith, Feist and Moses Sumney.
Hazel Eyes was co-produced by Smith, Aldred and David Odlum, and partly recorded at New York’s Electric Lady Studios. The duet gives one of its love songs a new arrangement while preserving the London performance for listeners who missed the residency.
