Angèle chose the club-oriented collaboration “Love Triangle” to introduce her new album era to American television.
Angèle made her U.S. television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 28, performing “Love Triangle” from her recently released album Instinct. The appearance brought one of the Belgian singer’s most international collaborations to a new late-night audience.
The staging began with an optical trick at a desk, making it appear that Angèle had four legs. According to Stereogum’s recap, the performance featured choreography by (LA)HORDE and creative direction by Armand Croisonnier, extending the song’s presentation beyond a conventional band setup.
The studio recording pairs Angèle with Caroline Polachek and French producer SebastiAn. Sony Music’s release announcement credits SebastiAn as producer, with Angèle and longtime collaborator Tristan Salvati co-producing. The track was recorded in Brussels and mixed by Serban Ghenea.
Its language choices also distinguish the collaboration: Angèle sings in English while Polachek moves between French and English. The record explores desire, jealousy and tension against an electronic backing, making it a clear example of the dance-oriented direction surrounding Instinct.
Instinct arrived October 16 as Angèle’s third studio album. The 13-track release also features Justice on “What You Want” and Soulwax on “Trop,” placing “Love Triangle” within a broader set of collaborations rather than treating it as a standalone crossover experiment.
The television appearance comes ahead of a limited run of North American dates next April. The announced itinerary includes two nights at Brooklyn Paramount on April 20 and 21, Los Angeles’ Wiltern on April 24 and San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium on April 25, providing the next scheduled opportunities for U.S. audiences to see the new material live.
