Hilary Duff’s five-song Holiday Things EP is out now, pairing three new originals with two familiar holiday songs and production from Matthew Koma.

Hilary Duff is getting a head start on the holiday soundtrack. Her new EP, Holiday Things, arrived October 23, bringing her back to Christmas music 24 years after Santa Claus Lane. The five-song release is available through her official music link, and its compact track list mixes new writing with established seasonal favorites. The new recordings revisit the seasonal side of a catalogue that began with the 2002 holiday album.

Duff co-wrote the EP, with Matthew Koma handling production, according to the release coverage from CelebMix. Three tracks are originals: “All You Want for Christmas Is Me,” “I Want (a few small things)” and “I Guess it’s Christmas.” The other two are “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Last Christmas (Mine).” That combination makes room for new material while giving listeners a pair of immediately recognizable song titles to find on the release.

The announcement came October 21, following a teaser that looked back to Santa Claus Lane a week earlier. Sports Illustrated reports that Duff marked the older album’s anniversary with its artwork, family holiday photographs and images connected to her previous seasonal roles. The sequence gave the new EP a clear personal and professional reference point: an artist returning to a familiar tradition, rather than introducing Christmas music as an entirely new direction.

The rollout also includes physical editions. Duff’s store offered vinyl and CDs alongside holiday-themed merchandise when the EP was announced, extending the project beyond streaming playlists. The official Holiday Things landing page now directs listeners to music services, while the five-song format makes this a concise seasonal release rather than another full-length album.

The EP arrives during Duff’s Australian tour dates and ahead of another industry appearance. CelebMix reports that Billboard will honor her with its Outstanding Pop Tour of the Year award at the November 10 Live Music Summit. She has also released “CATastrophe,” an original song for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s The Cat in the Hat, which reaches cinemas November 6.

The selection reaches across generations of Christmas pop. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is associated with Judy Garland, while “Last Christmas” originated with Wham! Duff previously recorded the latter for Santa Claus Lane; the new version’s “(Mine)” subtitle distinguishes the revisit. Those two selections share the five-track EP with her newly written songs, tying the current collaboration with Koma to her earliest recording history.
