Chappell Roan closed her two-night Super Graphic Spectacular benefit with Lola Young and PinkPantheress guest spots, plus a duet during Caroline Polachek’s opening set.
Chappell Roan made the final night of The Super Graphic Spectacular a shared stage. As JamBase reports, the October 22 show at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium featured appearances from PinkPantheress and Lola Young during her headline set, while Roan also joined Caroline Polachek earlier in the evening. The collaborations closed a two-night benefit marking the first anniversary of Roan’s Midwest Princess Project.
Young entered midway through “Picture You,” the ballad from Roan’s 2023 debut, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. She took verses and joined the harmonies, turning a familiar part of Roan’s catalogue into a two-singer performance. Young had already appeared among the previous night’s opening acts, making her return a continuation of the event’s rotating cast rather than an unrelated cameo.
PinkPantheress’ appearance took a different form. After Roan introduced her following “The Subway,” the British artist performed her own song “Tonight.” Roan returned near the end, dancing and joining the call-and-response energy, but this was not a full duet. The distinction matters to the night’s shape: Roan was making space for another performer’s music as well as inviting guests into her own.
Earlier, Roan stepped into the guest role herself during Polachek’s opening set. She joined “Look at Me Now” partway through the song, giving the 2019 ballad a second voice. MUNA also appeared on the bill, and comedian Caleb Hearon hosted. Across the evening, the shared performances connected artists with different approaches to pop within the same benefit.
The guest appearances surrounded a set that opened with “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” and ended with “Pink Pony Club,” according to JamBase’s recap. “HOT TO GO!,” “The Giver” and “Good Luck, Babe!” were also included. The previous night had brought another surprise: Christina Aguilera performed “Beautiful” before joining Roan for “Coffee,” establishing the collaborative tone that carried into Thursday’s finale.
The benefit’s purpose extended beyond those star pairings. Net proceeds go to the Midwest Princess Project, which supports trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities. The two nights used Roan’s live platform to put that organization at the center of a large pop gathering. For viewers catching up through concert footage, the most memorable moments are the individual performances; their common thread is the cause that brought the lineup together.
