A new David Bowie concert experience will bring restored Earls Court footage to Berlin’s Uber Arena in February.
David Bowie STAGE is turning a 1978 performance into a new arena-scale presentation. Announced October 27, the immersive production will premiere on February 14, 2027, at Berlin’s Uber Arena in association with the Berlinale.
The project centers on 35mm footage from Bowie’s Isolar II tour at Earls Court. Rather than presenting a new performance, it builds a shared audience experience around archival concert material, carrying the late artist’s stage work into a contemporary production.
Filmmaker Brett Morgen restored and reworked footage he discovered while making Moonage Daydream. The new presentation extends that archival exploration into a different setting, with the arena itself becoming part of the viewing experience.
The creative team pairs lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe with sound specialist Paul Massey. Multiple screens, transparent LED elements and 7.1 surround sound form part of the announced production, which is being made by Rob Hallett’s Wonderworld with the Bowie estate.
According to promoter DreamHaus, the Eventim presale begins October 28 at 10 a.m. CET, followed by general sales October 30 at the same time. The Berlin date is the announced world premiere.
Morgen is also scheduled to discuss the project during the European Film Market. Further international dates have not been announced, leaving Berlin as the first confirmed destination for this new presentation of Bowie’s concert archive.
