Older Future Unveils Emotionally Detailed EDM Single ‘MITCH’

Following the release of ‘Never Younger’ back in 2022, Older Future is back with his latest single ‘Mitch’. Taken from his forthcoming album, the artist returns with his unique approach to creativity, marking an end to his three-year hiatus.

Carving out its colourful glow, ‘Mitch’ offers head-first immersion into the creative vibrance of Older Future. Complete with blood-pumping basslines and drum machines, the single offers a blend of genre-defying elements that refuse to stay in one lane. Bringing a flavour that feels equally futuristic and nostalgic, the singles’ kaleidoscopic modulation poses a slightly otherworldly, unique feel. Penned about the comings and goings of the day-to-day, the track tells tales of modern life as an illusion passed on through childhood dreams and silver screens.

Speaking about the single, he comments, “At the heart of the album is this first single – I wanted to capture the innocence of childhood dreams, inspired from when I used to watch Baywatch as a kid. Those idealised visions of sunlit beaches, heroism, and perfection slowly unravel as the nine-to-five kicks in, revealing the bittersweet truth that some fantasies are just illusions. The track encapsulates that subtle heartbreak of growing up and seeing through the illusions we once held onto so tightly.”

Adding about the album, “I wanted the album to feel immersive and a little haunting, like stepping into a memory that’s always been in the back of your mind. For me, it’s about creating space to reflect on fears, old joys, and the things we carry without always realising it.”

Quickly rising through the electronic underground, Older Future is quickly making a name for himself with his boundary-pushing, genre-fusion soundscapes. The brainchild of engineer and synth designer Alon Yaish, the project was inspired by local rave scenes, whilst drawing on Yaish’s traditional piano training. Since the release of his single ‘Shame’ in 2021, which has amassed almost half a million streams to date, Older Future has grown from strength to strength with new music on the horizon for 2025.
