A lifelong music lover from Lebanon, S.J. Karam has spent decades fine-tuning his craft. And while he’s been making music since the ’80s, he’s not in it for fame—he just wants to share his passion with the world.
From Classical Guitar to Synth Heaven
S.J.’s love affair with music started when he was just 10 years old, learning classical guitar. But it wasn’t long before the futuristic tones of synthesizers captured his imagination. Artists like Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, and Vangelis inspired him to explore electronic music, and he’s been hooked ever since.
Nevertheless, he never stopped playing guitar, developing his style, playing original songs and covers, then started playing also electric guitar, inspired mainly by Hank Marvin (The Shadows) and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd).
In the ’90s, as computer-based music production started taking off, S.J. began experimenting with MIDI and synthesizers. With a Korg M1 workstation in hand, he created his first album, Love Letter, as a romantic tribute to his then-fiancée and current wife Lilian.

“I’m not trying to be a celebrity,” S.J. explains. “I just want my music to reach people and bring them some joy or peace.”
Looking ahead, S.J. plans to keep releasing instrumental tracks, though he’s open to exploring songs with lyrics one day. Either way, his goal is the same: to keep creating music that resonates.
