SHAY Khushrenada turns concern over London’s fading nightlife into a forceful new anthem that reconnects UK rap with the city’s rebellious rave tradition.

For SHAY Khushrenada, “VANTA VANTA” is more than another high-energy release. The East London artist uses the single to confront what he sees happening around him as venues disappear, restrictions tighten and the city’s nightlife becomes increasingly controlled.

Released on August 28, the track is SHAY’s response to that changing environment. Its central slogan, “Make London Rave Again,” carries a sense of protest, but the record never becomes weighed down by its message. Instead, he channels that frustration into something loud, physical and celebratory.

From a listening perspective, “VANTA VANTA” succeeds because it does not treat hip-hop, breakbeat and rave as separate ingredients. The production moves with relentless urgency while SHAY delivers his vocals with enough force to command the chaos, creating a record that feels designed for dark rooms, heavy speakers and restless crowds.

The instrumental was produced by Boston MG, whom SHAY discovered online. Its intensity immediately reminded him of the disorder and rebellious spirit associated with acts such as The Prodigy, giving him the starting point for a track that acknowledges rave history without sounding trapped in the past.

Recorded at The Recording Studio London, the song also reflects the broad collection of influences behind SHAY’s work. Artists including Linkin Park, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Skepta and Kano have helped shape his creative outlook, and “VANTA VANTA” brings those different worlds together through its balance of lyrical presence and aggressive production.

Its accompanying video takes the story from East London to Rio de Janeiro, where SHAY travelled alone and reconnected with his friend Verissimo and the creative collective Corporação Cápsula. The trip eventually led to a performance in Baixada Fluminense, where he introduced “VANTA VANTA” to a live audience for the first time.

By connecting London’s underground history with the energy he encountered in Brazil, SHAY gives the release a wider meaning. “VANTA VANTA” stands as both a celebration and a warning: nightlife culture only survives when artists and communities continue making noise for it.
