Californian Hip Hop Duo Pure Order continue their righteous creative streak with heavy flows and downright sexy vibes on new single “Affinity”, out March 24, 2023 on streaming platforms. Pure Order, featuring gifted and conscious rappers Nemesis and God’s Gift, bring hip hop to a passionate future while paying tribute to classic, soulful artists like J Dilla and De La Soul.
The band shared a statement about “the new release: “Affinity is a sort of love song to hip hop and our worldwide hip hop family. It describes how creative elements are drawn together through powerful attraction to produce a colorful display of beauteous power that lasts indefinitely, such as that of a nebula created by the collision of the elements of a star during implosion. The beauty and longevity of a nebula being compared to our beloved Hip Hop is welcomed as we commemorate 50 years of this powerful cultural movement. Affinity also describes how God’s Gift and Nemesis relate to each other artistically-as energies different in nature, bound in common values, & creatively powerful together. Along with featured comrade Bread of Kaliwild, we hope Affinity showcases the pleasure and ease of hip hop creativity when those who come together to create it do so in true love & respect for the culture and for each other.”
Pure Order recently launched a new line of clothing and merchandise at their official store.
“qualifies as an early contender for best alternative hip-hop single out of the underground this year. “Sons Of Belial” will blow your mind if you’ve been living on a diet of nothing but mainstream rap in 2022, and for those of us who live for the lust of an original hip-hop song, this is about as powerful a release as you’re going to find this winter. Truth be told, if this duo’s contemporaries fail to produce something competitive, 2023 could easily belong to Pure Order.” – Kim Sullenberger, Music Existence blog

Pure Order is comprised of emcees God’s Gift and Nemesis. Straight out of Cali, Nemesis is from Los Angeles and God’s Gift’s roots are in Oxnard, CA.
The name Pure Order was coined by God’s Gift in his days of rapping with Kankick, Madlib and the Lootpack. He sought to partner with emcees that represented the pure lyricist’s element with content meant to empower our culture, not degrade it. When he met Nemesis in the early 2000s, Gift knew he had found the right partner for Pure Order and Nemesis agreed. Although not yet recording any music under that name they still enjoyed a few jam sessions. After pursuing education and stabilizing their lives, they decided to start recording together in 2013.
Pure Order means purity of hip hop lyricism & creativity; the order being hip hop fundamental principles such as love, unity, creativity, originality, and fun.
NEMESIS: “Although I had stacks of rhymes in my school binder, I was so timid I was hesitant to do even an adlib on Gift’s project when he asked me to in late 2013. I took up recording music in 2014 featuring on God’s Gift’s project with DJ Shag called The Valkyrie. My first verse ever recorded is on the song “Lighthouse” by De Bergerac (God’s Gift & DJ Shag).
I got motivated by the thrill of pure expression, love of my hip hop culture, and the encouragement from God’s Gift. The first few to hear me rap professionally were impressed to my surprise, and that helped me lean into enough self-confidence to pursue the fun and love of hip hop art further.”
GOD’S GIFT: “I started rapping in the early 90s and began making songs in high school with my friends Kankick, Madlib and my cousin’s group Mystery’s Extinction. I featured on the Loot Pack’s Soundpieces, Lost Tapes albums and Kankick’s From Artz Unknown album.”
