Phoebe Bridgers made a memorable Venice Film Festival debut at the world premiere of Primetime on September 5, arriving in a wispy gray lace gown from McQueen’s Fall 2026 collection. The musician joined the film’s cast on the red carpet as her acting debut became one of the festival’s buzziest crossover moments.
As Vogue reported, the McQueen look featured floral lace, diaphanous panels and a sheer construction that gave the dress an ethereal finish. Bridgers completed the ensemble with jewelry including a Cartier Nigeria ring and a Leo Black signet ring, keeping the styling restrained enough for the gown to remain the focus.
The evening look marked a sharp contrast from Bridgers’ earlier photocall appearance, where she wore a tailored black Gucci skirt suit with oval-frame sunglasses and Stuart Weitzman pumps. The two outfits played with opposing sides of her style, moving from structured tailoring during the day to soft, gothic romance for the premiere.
Bridgers was in Venice for Lance Oppenheim’s psychological thriller Primetime, which also marks her first acting role. She portrays Del Harvey, a young decoy in a story inspired by the production and cultural fallout surrounding To Catch a Predator, with Robert Pattinson, Skyler Gisondo and Merritt Wever among her co-stars.
The premiere gave Bridgers an especially high-profile introduction to the film world. Primetime received an enthusiastic seven-minute standing ovation in Venice, according to Vogue, adding another layer of attention to a festival appearance already drawing notice for her fashion choices.
For an artist long associated with skeleton suits, dark tailoring and a distinctly gothic visual identity, the McQueen gown still felt recognizably Bridgers despite its more romantic direction.
