Perpetuate The Struggle’s debut album The Good Fight was shaped by grief, family sacrifice and a renewed creative purpose that helped turn one of the most difficult periods of his life into music.
The foundation of The Good Fight reaches back to September 2023, when the artist behind Perpetuate The Struggle lost his mother in an accident just two days before her birthday. In the months that followed, he also spent nearly a year away from his wife and children while supporting family members his mother had left behind. The combination of loss, responsibility and distance left him surrounded by memories he was not yet ready to fully process.
His return to music came from an unexpected place. In late 2024, he began experimenting with AI while revisiting a comedic song he had originally written in 2016. The exercise became surprisingly therapeutic, and what began as an experiment soon reopened a creative door that had been largely closed during his grieving process.
By early January 2025, he was writing regularly again, drawing inspiration from his mother’s memory and using music as a way to work through experiences that had previously felt difficult to confront. That renewed momentum eventually developed into The Good Fight, a project built around the idea of continuing forward even when circumstances make that difficult.
The creative process behind the album is also central to Perpetuate The Struggle’s approach. Every lyric was written by the artist himself, while the composition and production remain under his creative direction. AI-assisted tools were used to help realize vocals and instrumentation, giving him another way to translate his writing and musical ideas into completed songs while maintaining control over the underlying material.
Musically, The Good Fight is intentionally difficult to place inside one category. Perpetuate The Struggle draws from different styles depending on the story being told, reflecting his belief that genre should not limit how widely an idea can be expressed. That versatility also mirrors his own relationship with music, which has remained a source of comfort throughout different stages of his life.
As a project, The Good Fight works best because its sense of resilience does not erase the pain that created it. There is a noticeable difference between music that simply tells listeners to keep going and music that comes from someone actively trying to understand why they should. The album’s emotional foundation gives its message more weight, while the movement between styles keeps the material from becoming trapped in one mood. It feels less like an attempt to provide easy answers and more like a record of someone learning how to live alongside difficult memories while still choosing to move forward.
That intention extends beyond his own experience. Perpetuate The Struggle hopes the album can reach listeners who are dealing with grief, family difficulties or other personal battles and offer some of the same comfort that music has given him. In that sense, The Good Fight turns an intensely private period into something designed to connect with people carrying struggles of their own.
With his debut now available, Perpetuate The Struggle is beginning his recorded journey with a project whose title reflects both its origin and its purpose. The Good Fight is ultimately about refusing to stop creating in the face of loss and finding a way to turn difficult experiences into something that might help both the person making the music and the people hearing it.
