Marathon Burger has opened its first airport restaurant at LAX, joining Kogi BBQ in Terminal 1.

Marathon Burger has arrived at Los Angeles International Airport, adding a new stop to the business built by Nipsey Hussle’s family and team. The Terminal 1 opening was celebrated October 26 alongside Roy Choi’s Kogi BBQ as the airport introduced two homegrown Los Angeles names to its dining lineup.

The new location is Marathon Burger’s first inside an airport and its fifth overall, according to Los Angeles World Airports. Co-founder Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom joined Mayor Karen Bass, airport representatives and other partners for the ribbon-cutting celebration.

Travelers will find a quick-service menu built around burgers, fries, hot wings and breakfast, with cocktails also offered. A separate Terminal 1 pop-up adds Marathon merchandise, bringing the restaurant and the wider brand into the same airport setting.

Marathon’s restaurant business has expanded from a 2024 pop-up to locations across the Los Angeles area. Eater LA reports that the existing restaurants include West Hollywood, Venice, Canoga Park and Long Beach, while the airport menu includes a double smash burger with grilled onions.

The restaurant continues a brand history that began when Nipsey launched The Marathon in 2010. At the opening, the Crenshaw Marching Band and 1500 or Nothin’ supplied music, connecting the airport expansion to the local creative community behind the business.

Kogi BBQ shares the Terminal 1 milestone, serving Korean-Mexican dishes in the main food court. The two openings are part of a broader dining and retail refresh at LAX, giving passengers more locally rooted choices as the airport prepares for the city’s 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
