Production on Landman Season 3 will begin later than previously expected, with filming now scheduled to start sometime in September. The Paramount+ drama had been preparing for an August return to production, but the updated timeline pushes the cast and crew’s return to Fort Worth back by several weeks.
James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley on the series, confirmed that filming is expected to continue through the first quarter of 2027. He also revealed that Taylor Sheridan is currently writing the new season, which will consist of 10 episodes, and said the cast is excited to begin working together again, according to Us Weekly.
Jordan expects director Stephen Kay to return after helping shape the first two seasons of the West Texas drama. Although the actor said he does not know when Paramount+ plans to release the completed episodes, the extended production schedule makes a 2026 premiere increasingly unlikely.
The returning actor has already received a Season 3 script and briefly looked through the material, describing what he saw as promising. He also indicated that viewers should expect another unpredictable season filled with the humor, danger and increasingly complicated relationships that have driven the show since its debut.
Landman follows Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris, a crisis manager navigating the fortunes, rivalries and deadly risks surrounding the Texas oil industry. Jordan said the cast is ready to return to the Fort Worth area, with the same principal ensemble expected to continue the story during the upcoming season.
While the delay means fans may wait longer for new episodes, Season 3 remains firmly in development and appears to be moving forward with its established creative team. Paramount+ has not announced an official release date, but filming through early 2027 suggests the series will likely return sometime after production and post-production are completed.
