For Massachusetts-based producer Killabenson Beats, music has always been about creating something that feels authentic. Hailing from Amesbury, Massachusetts, roughly 45 minutes northeast of Boston, Killabenson has been producing music since 2010 and has steadily built a brand around versatility, creativity, and a genuine love for hip hop.
His musical influences span generations. As a listener and lyricist-inspired producer, he draws from legendary artists such as Nas, Big L, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., and Ja Rule, while also taking inspiration from contemporary voices including Young Dolph, Kenny Muney, Benny the Butcher, and Young Thug. Behind the boards, producers such as The Alchemist, Daringer, Statik Selektah, and DJ Premier have helped shape his appreciation for production and beat-making.
His journey into production started with a friend. The two began creating beats together, eventually leading Killabenson to branch out independently and develop his own sound.
“I like watching [the music] come alive,” he says, describing the personal connection he has with his work. Every song and album represents a piece of his inner self, with melodies and production serving as an outlet for his creativity.
For Killabenson, succeeding in today’s music industry requires more than simply making good music. Artists have to stay creative, promote themselves, remain unique, and trust the process. He keeps himself current by connecting with emerging artists, listening to mainstream music, and paying attention to the latest content and trends.
Although he is primarily a producer and doesn’t consider himself a traditional performing artist, Killabenson understands the importance of energy. His ambitions extend beyond music as well. Killabenson says he would love to see his story and creative journey become a Netflix series, a reflection of just how far he sees his brand going.
As for dream collaborations, his list says plenty about the level he’s aiming for: Young Thug, Nas, and Conway.
For now, Killabenson Beats is focused on the work—creating, collaborating, promoting, and continuing to build. Much of the recognition he has received has come directly from viewers on YouTube who connect with his music and videos, giving him something every independent creator needs: an audience that is paying attention.
With new music, international collaborations, and more creative projects on the horizon, Killabenson Beats is proving that sometimes the most important part of building a career isn’t rushing the process—it’s continuing to create until the world catches up with the vision.
