Jack Doherty Accused of Pinning Girlfriend by the Neck in New Police Report

New police details allege Jack Doherty pushed his girlfriend to the floor and briefly held her by the neck during the dispute that led to his latest arrest.

A new police report has added serious allegations to Jack Doherty’s domestic battery case, days after the YouTuber was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to TMZ, a probable cause affidavit says the September 4 argument became physical as Doherty’s girlfriend attempted to leave a residence.

The woman told officers that Doherty moved quickly toward her and got in her face during the confrontation, prompting her to extend an arm to create distance. Local10, citing the Fort Lauderdale police report, said officers noted two scratch marks on Doherty’s face and collarbone area and that surveillance video confirmed that portion of the encounter.

According to the affidavit, the argument continued when the woman went upstairs to gather her belongings. Police said she alleged Doherty became angry because she wanted to leave, then pushed her to the ground and used his hands around her neck to briefly pin her down.

The woman told police she was still able to breathe during the alleged restraint. She then grabbed a firearm from a bedside table, held it by her side and warned Doherty that she would shoot him if he approached her again, according to the police account reported by TMZ and Local10.

Fort Lauderdale officers responded to the Riverside Park home shortly before noon and arrested Doherty on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Local10 reported that Doherty declined to speak with officers at the scene and later bonded out of jail, while court records cited by the outlet listed no attorney for him at the time of its report.

The latest affidavit provides substantially more detail than was available immediately after the arrest, which Rolling Hype previously reported on September 5. A source close to Doherty previously told TMZ that he acted in self-defense; that claim represents his side’s account as the criminal case continues through Broward County court.
