Jessie Cave, best known for playing Lavender Brown in the final three Harry Potter films, has revealed that her unconventional move to OnlyFans became the most profitable decision of her career. The actress said she earned more from the platform within a single year than she had made throughout her entire acting career.

Cave joined OnlyFans in 2025 while struggling financially and facing limited acting opportunities. Subscribers pay $6 per month for her fully clothed, non-explicit content centered on her long hair, including videos of her brushing and styling it while wearing themed costumes. She also earns money through personalized paid messages and disclosed that she once made £15,000, approximately $20,000, in a single day, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 39-year-old initially believed she would remain on the platform for only a few months and hoped to earn enough money to give herself time to reconsider her career. Instead, the account continued growing for more than a year and provided financial stability for Cave, her partner and their four children.

Although OnlyFans is widely associated with sexually explicit material, Cave has emphasized that her page focuses entirely on niche hair content. Her videos sometimes feature playful costumes and references to her Harry Potter character, but she remains fully clothed and maintains clear boundaries around what she shares.

Cave admitted that joining the platform came with a degree of stigma, but the financial results changed her family’s circumstances at a time when traditional entertainment work was no longer providing reliable income. She described the decision as one that “genuinely saved our lives,” showing how dramatically the platform altered her financial position.

Her experience also highlights the unpredictable economics of acting, where appearing in one of the world’s biggest film franchises does not necessarily guarantee long-term financial security. For Cave, turning an unusual creative idea into a subscription business ultimately produced greater earnings than years spent working in film, television and theater.
