The November 6 single draws on handwritten family journals to introduce a new chapter in the songwriter’s devotional music.
Eddy Mann’s “Thank You Lord” is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, as a single from his forthcoming album, Dreaming with God. At the center of the song are the prayers and reflections his late mother recorded in handwritten journals during the summer of 2009, four years before her death.
Mann approached those pages as more than a starting point for a new story. He worked with his mother’s own expressions, finding melodic possibilities in her language and rhythmic ideas in the way she shaped her thoughts. The song gives those intimate writings a musical life beyond the pages where they began.
Gratitude is the recording’s central theme. Its lyrics give thanks for daily blessings, wonders, grace, favor and mercy, returning to a request for God’s loving care. That directness allows the personal history behind the song to remain present without turning it into an elaborate narrative.
The repetition follows the reflective character of devotional prayer, where returning to familiar words can deepen their meaning. The song also takes inspiration from Psalm 118:24, connecting its expression of thanksgiving with the idea of recognizing each day as an occasion for rejoicing.
Mann has described entering the studio with a basic arrangement and harmonies that were still evolving. Rather than presenting the recording as the final destination for the composition, he captured a particular stage in its development, an approach that leaves room for worship to be understood as an ongoing practice.
The release extends the faith-centered work that also runs through Mann’s “We Are”. Here, the emphasis falls on the connection between remembrance and belief: a son returning to his mother’s words and discovering a way for them to reach new listeners.
That relationship gives “Thank You Lord” its lasting subject. The single preserves a family’s spiritual inheritance while opening it to anyone who recognizes the importance of a remembered prayer, a familiar phrase or a small expression of thanks. It introduces Dreaming with God through a story of continuity, with the music carrying forward a voice that remains meaningful after loss.
