Claud’s third album pairs a larger production role with songs about love, resilience and finding relief among friends.
Claud has released Me and the Music, a ten-song follow-up to 2023’s Supermodels. Out October 23 through Dead Oceans, the record approaches difficult feelings without making seriousness its only emotional register.
Claud co-produced the album with John Congleton, taking a more direct role behind the boards with encouragement from mentor Jack Antonoff. Much of the writing happened at Electric Lady Studios alongside Hank Heaven and Annie DiRusso, placing familiar collaborators inside that creative expansion.
Opening song “Gay Witchcraft” treats a new relationship as something both magical and resilient. Claud has also shared a live performance from Electric Lady, returning the song to the studio connected with much of the album’s development.
Earlier single “She Doesn’t Love Me” uses an unreturned-romance metaphor to address Claud’s relationship with America. Its video eventually moves toward companionship, with a closing bar scene featuring Clairo, Josh Mehling, Samia and other friends rather than leaving its protagonist isolated.
The track list makes space for conflicting emotions without losing its playful edge. “Just Kidding,” “The Reach” and “I’m too Sensitive” sit alongside the title song, while “Spells and Fortune Tellers” extends the imagery introduced by the opener.
The sequence ends with “Let’s End on a Good Note,” a fitting title for a project that does not equate sincerity with constant solemnity. Claud’s announced North American headline tour starts in Boston on February 18, bringing this new material into another setting built around shared experience.
