Chris Pratt says Star-Lord’s next chapter is moving forward, offering a concrete update without identifying the Marvel project that will bring him back.
Chris Pratt has given Marvel fans a clearer answer about Star-Lord’s return, even if its timing remains confidential. Speaking to The Playlist, the actor said discussions with studio leaders have progressed beyond a shared desire to revisit Peter Quill: “So yeah, you’ll see Star-Lord again.”
Pratt described an ongoing relationship with Kevin Feige and Lou D’Esposito and said concrete steps have been taken to deliver on the character’s promised comeback. His account concerns active work behind the scenes, rather than simply another expression of his willingness to play the role.
That promise was left hanging at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which told audiences Quill would return after bringing the trilogy to a close. The film also sent him back to Earth to reconnect with his grandfather, leaving his next adventure separate from that final farewell.
As Variety notes, Pratt has played Star-Lord across six Marvel films, spanning the three Guardians movies, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Love and Thunder. That history makes the character more than a fixture of one team, without establishing which corner of the franchise he will visit next.
Earlier this year, Pratt said on Happy Sad Confused that he had already pitched Feige an idea for Quill’s future. He also described being open to contributing to Marvel’s longer-term storytelling plans, while keeping the substance of his own proposal private.
The new remarks came during an interview promoting The Terminal List’s second season, not a studio presentation announcing a film. For now, no specific project or release date was revealed, so the update should not be mistaken for confirmation of an Avengers appearance or a standalone Star-Lord movie.
