Charlie Wilson has released “Christmas Is You,” a family-centered holiday recording that arrives ahead of a Christmas EP planned for next year.

Charlie Wilson is opening his holiday project with one song rather than waiting for the full collection. “Christmas Is You” arrived November 6 through Parandise/P Music Group, with Phebe Paran named as a featured guest on the digital release.

The label’s announcement describes the track as Wilson’s first original Christmas song. Longtime P Music Group collaborator ajsmets co-wrote and produced it. That distinction concerns an original composition, not a claim that Wilson has never recorded seasonal music before.

The family connection is part of the recording itself. Wilson explained that his granddaughter Phebe came into the studio to tell him she loved him, and the exchange was kept in the song. Her appearance turns a private studio moment into part of the finished release.

P Music Group CEO Michael Paran said the team had wanted to make a Christmas EP for years. The larger project is planned for 2027, but they chose to share this particular track during the current holiday season rather than hold everything back.

YouKnowIGotSoul’s release coverage places the song’s focus on familiar domestic memories and the person at the center of them. It is a personal angle for the former Gap Band frontman, whose solo career has produced 11 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

The release is available through Wilson’s official music links, with an accompanying visualizer. For now, the full EP remains a future release: the announcement gives next year as its target without naming a final title or exact arrival date.
