He made attempts to turn those lyrics into finished music, including a serious push in 2018 that required a significant financial investment but ultimately did not work out. Instead of abandoning the dream, he kept writing. Now, with years of experiences behind him and a much larger collection of material, he is returning to music with something he did not have when he first started: a lifetime of stories to draw from.
His songwriting is not confined to one genre. Thomas has spent years listening to different styles of music, and he allows the emotion of a song to determine where it belongs. He has even documented himself singing some of his own songs on YouTube, showing a willingness to embrace the imperfect side of the creative process. Physical limitations have created additional challenges, but a hospital experience became an important turning point that helped open the door to the music he had been trying to bring to life.
One of the most meaningful milestones came when a song he had written years earlier began reaching listeners and passed 1,000 plays. The number itself mattered, but what made the moment special was the personal story behind the song and the possibility that his daughter could one day see how far he had taken something he once struggled to get produced. After spending so many years putting family and responsibility ahead of his own ambitions, the milestone represented more than a streaming figure. It was proof that the songs he had carried for decades could finally reach someone beyond himself.
That personal connection continues to shape Thomas’s music. His songs draw from his life, the people around him, and the experiences that have stayed with him over the years.
