MIAMI BEACH, FL – Summer in South Florida is about to get even more exciting as The Miami Takeover 2026 prepares to launch its annual festivities with The Art of Laughter Festival, an evening dedicated to bringing people together through comedy, live music, visual art, and community.

The event will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33141), setting the tone for what promises to be another memorable edition of The Miami Takeover’s signature summer celebration.

Now entering its 18th year, The Miami Takeover has built a reputation for creating experiences that go beyond entertainment, and this year’s opening event is no exception. Guests can expect an energetic mix of standup comedy, soulful live performances, interactive art, and a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates Black culture, creativity, and community.

Music will play a major role throughout the evening, with Washington, D.C.’s renowned go-go band Top 5 taking the stage alongside hip-hop artist and R&B singer Antfar Music. Fans can also look forward to a performance from Atlanta-based live music collective Quinn & the Jukebox, led by Grammy-nominated vocalist Quinn, whose blend of R&B and live instrumentation has earned widespread acclaim.

“We’re excited to partner with the City of Miami Beach and collaborate with Miami Beach Bandshell in the city’s only open-air entertainment venue steps away from the beach,” said Wylie Kynard, co-founder and partner of The Miami Takeover LLC. “It’s going to be a great night of laughter and entertainment. Early bird ticket prices are available right now for a limited time.”

The festival’s comedy lineup is equally impressive. Hosted by Miami’s Soul Scene Queen Ingrid B and the Punchline King, Spunky Robinson, the show will feature performances from Joe Clair, Tony Woods, Ronnie Jordan, Esaw McGraw, Ashima Franklin, Eddie Bryant, Lawrence Killabrew, Antoine Scott, Maria Sanchez, and Howie Bell. Together, they represent some of the most respected voices in Black comedy today and are expected to deliver an evening packed with unforgettable moments.

While laughter and music take center stage, art lovers will also have something special to experience. Miami artist Rodney Royal will present a solo exhibition featuring works inspired by Black history, influential cultural figures, and the power of community. His vibrant collection reflects both artistic excellence and a commitment to giving back.

A portion of the proceeds from artwork sales will benefit the One R.O.Y.A.L. Effect Foundation, an organization that supports young people through arts education, tutoring, literacy initiatives, math enrichment, and social-emotional development programs throughout South Miami.

“We’re passionate about platforming and supporting local creative artists like Rodney, and attendees will get to see some of his latest incredible art that celebrates culture and community,” said Antwoine McCoy, co-founder and partner of The Miami Takeover LLC.

Organizers are encouraging attendees to arrive in their best summer looks and enjoy an evening where fashion, entertainment, and culture come together in one unforgettable setting. Early bird tickets are currently available on Eventbrite for a limited time, and all guests must be 21 years of age or older to purchase tickets or enter the venue.
