Keith Lee says a terrifying late-night close call on a Texas highway left him deeply thankful after a wrong-way crash nearby claimed one life.
Keith Lee is counting his blessings after narrowly avoiding a deadly wrong-way collision in the Dallas area. The viral food critic described the Keith Lee car accident close call in an emotional video, saying the experience made him realize just how differently the night could have ended.
According to Complex, Lee was traveling with his wife, Ronni, and friends around midnight when a vehicle approached traffic from the wrong direction on U.S. Highway 67 in Duncanville, Texas. Authorities said the wrong-way vehicle had been reported stolen out of Irving, and the driver was later charged with intoxication manslaughter after a crash that left one person dead and two others injured.
Lee recalled seeing the car ahead of him suddenly react before he realized a vehicle was coming directly toward them. He said he moved behind a truck as the oncoming car passed, describing the frightening sequence as feeling like a movie playing out in slow motion.
“Last night we had a near-death experience and this is a testimony,” Lee said while recounting the incident. He added, “If God wasn’t with me last night I wouldn’t be here and I mean that wholeheartedly.”
From his rearview mirror, Lee said he watched the wrong-way vehicle continue through traffic as other motorists attempted to avoid it. After learning the following morning that the incident had turned fatal, Lee offered condolences to the victim’s family while reflecting on how close he and his passengers had come to being involved.
The food reviewer said the experience left him feeling compelled to speak publicly about his gratitude. “I woke up this morning overly grateful,” he said, emphasizing that the outcome for his own vehicle could have been much worse and repeating his belief that God had protected him.
Lee’s account comes as authorities continue investigating the fatal Duncanville crash. The incident turned what had been an ordinary late-night drive into a sobering moment for the creator, who told followers he did not want to take surviving the close call for granted.
