JAY-Z will headline the 2027 Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show, returning to SoFi Stadium for a performance that follows his anniversary concerts at the same venue.
JAY-Z is officially moving from a celebratory stadium weekend to one of television’s biggest music stages. The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on October 26 that he will lead the Super Bowl LXI halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The announcement arrived during ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast rather than during either of his recent SoFi concerts. Apple Music’s black-and-white teaser placed the rapper in empty stadium seats, surrounded by goats, with “Public Service Announcement” supplying the soundtrack.
It is a pointed way to introduce a first halftime-headlining appearance: a familiar song built around reintroducing himself, paired with the line “GOAT’s out of the bag.” The clip confirms the performer without revealing a set list or announcing guest appearances.
The venue connection is especially immediate. His October 23 and 24 anniversary shows at SoFi celebrated the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, with guests including Blue Ivy, John Legend, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
The booking also changes his relationship to the halftime production. Roc Nation has worked with the NFL since 2019, while JAY-Z now takes the headline performance slot himself after years of involvement behind the event.
For viewers, the league lists ESPN, ABC and Disney+ among the U.S. platforms carrying the game. The destination and date are settled; the songs, guests and shape of JAY-Z’s halftime performance remain details still to come.
